Healthcare research often involves sensitive experiences, specialized professional roles and narrow eligibility. Recruitment must be both precise and proportionate.

Verify what the study truly requires

Not every healthcare study needs the same depth of verification. A patient experience survey, a caregiver study and specialist physician research each call for different evidence and screening language. Collect only what serves a legitimate research need.

Design for dignity and clarity

Participants should understand why sensitive questions are being asked and how their answers will be used. Screening should avoid unnecessarily revealing study objectives while remaining clear enough for informed participation.

  • Use privacy-aware screening flows
  • Match verification to audience risk
  • Avoid collecting unnecessary identifiers
  • Provide appropriate support and escalation

Operational expertise matters

Low incidence, complex quotas and clinical terminology create fieldwork risk. Early feasibility review and active monitoring help prevent pressure from turning into weak qualification or poor participant experiences.
